She delivers her message in a one-woman monologue in beautifully made period costume, never straying from her proper Victorian character.
She tells the facts and she is convincingly forceful as tension builds and the audience wonders “How long must we wait Mr. Wilson.
Ms. Garvey-Hodge’s performance is perfect for all ages, and all of whom really need to hear this bit of Americana.

Lynne Garvey Hodge presented a riveting portrayal of Mrs. Robert Walker. She brought this suffragist vividly to life during a 30 minute re-enactment. Her character was dressed in period costume including hair, makeup, jewelry and parasol. We really believed that we were listening to Mrs. Robert Walker! Lynne followed up the nonstop, well researched monologue with an informative question and answer session that completely engaged her audience.

Program participants still talk about this wonderful branch program. We were honored to thank Lynne by making a donation to the Turning Point memorial.

It was my pleasure to interview Lynne Garvey Hodge, aka Suffragist Mrs. Robert Walker, for the Fairfax Public Access television show "On the Go with AAUW." As part of the half-hour interview, Lynne performed, in full period costume, a historical account of womens' struggle for the right to vote, as told through her alter-ego, Mrs. Walker. As Mrs. Walker, Lynne's "first-hand" account was meticulously researched and delivered with the practiced authenticity of a professional stage actor. I learned details of the suffering and horror that women endured, not too long ago, for a right that we take for granted today and gained an appreciation for these unsung trailblazers.

Lynne Garvey Hodge presented a program on the life of Mrs. Robert Walker, her activities in the Women's Suffragist movement to my Oscher Lifelong Learning Institute. Her presentation was so well received, she also wore the correct clothing of the day which the 60 plus class attendees enjoyed. I received many comments from class members about how the program was so enjoyable and informative.
